This Privacy Policy describes how ProApps (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the WeightMate mobile application (“the app”) on iOS and Android. The app is published by Bradley Emerson under the developer name ProApps.
By using the app, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
WeightMate is a fitness logging and tracking tool. You enter your own routines, workouts, and optional progress metrics. We do not provide medical advice, diagnoses, treatment recommendations, self-care coaching, or lifestyle prescriptions.
Information we collect
The categories below align with the data types disclosed in our App Store and Google Play privacy labels. We collect this information to operate the app’s primary features (account, sync, workouts, progress, and subscriptions).
Contact info
- Email address — used to create and sign in to your account.
- Name — your username / display name in the app.
We do not collect phone numbers or physical mailing addresses for core app features.
Identifiers
- User ID — authentication and account identifiers issued by our auth provider (Supabase), used to sync your data and link subscription status.
We do not use advertising identifiers for ads. Subscription services (RevenueCat / Apple / Google) may use account- or app-linked identifiers solely to manage purchases and entitlements.
Health & fitness
- Fitness — workout routines, exercises, logged sessions (sets, reps, weights, rest, notes, cardio duration and distance), schedule settings, and related training data you enter or import.
- Health — optional user-provided values you choose to log (for example body weight and daily check-in metrics such as protein, calories, carbohydrates, fat, steps, resting heart rate, or custom metrics). WeightMate is not a medical device and does not use clinical health records.
Android Health Connect and Apple Health (optional)
On devices where you choose to allow it, WeightMate can read selected health and fitness data from Android Health Connect or Apple Health (HealthKit) to help fill check-ins and cardio logs. Access is optional, requested through the platform permission screens, and can be revoked at any time in system settings. WeightMate does not write data back to Health Connect or Apple Health.
Depending on what you grant, we may read:
- Body weight — latest value for a selected day on check-in auto-import
- Body fat percentage — when you add the optional Body fat % check-in metric, latest value for the selected day when available (for example from a smart scale synced to Health Connect or Apple Health)
- Steps — day totals for check-in, and steps during a cardio bout time window
- Nutrition — calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat for check-in auto-import when available
- Heart rate — samples during a cardio bout; used for graphs and average / max heart-rate trends
- Resting heart rate — official resting HR for a day when available; if not available, we may estimate resting HR from continuous heart-rate samples and label that value as estimated in the app
- Distance — walking/running/cycling or distance-delta records associated with a cardio bout (including a value of zero when the platform reports no movement)
- Workouts / exercise sessions — matching session start, end, duration, and total distance when your fitness apps (for example Samsung Health or Garmin) have synced a workout into Health Connect or Apple Health
Imported values are stored with your WeightMate account (via our backend) the same way manually entered workout and check-in data is stored, so they can sync across your devices. Auto-import on check-in only fills empty fields and does not overwrite values you already entered. You can turn check-in auto-import off in the app.
WeightMate does not use Health Connect or Apple Health data for advertising, marketing, or sale to third parties. Revoking platform health permissions stops new imports; data already saved in your WeightMate account remains until you edit it or delete your account.
Purchases
WeightMate offers optional paid subscriptions and a one-time lifetime option through the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). We do not collect or store your payment card number, bank account number, or full billing details. Payment info is entered in Apple’s or Google’s payment sheets outside our app.
We (and our subscription partner RevenueCat) receive purchase / entitlement status linked to your WeightMate account identifier (for example product ID and whether access is active) so we can unlock features you paid for. That is purchase history / status — not payment card data.
User content
- Custom exercises, routine library entries, goals, and other content you create in the app.
- Customer support / bug reports — if you submit optional feedback or a bug report in the app, we store the description (and related context) you provide so we can investigate.
Referral program data
If you use referral features, we store:
- Your invite code
- Whether you signed up with someone else’s invite code (referrer relationship)
- Referral credit balance and conversion counts used to grant promotional access to the referrer when a referred friend purchases WeightMate One
Entering a friend’s code at sign-up only sets attribution and may shorten your account-side free trial — it does not grant the new user store billing credit. We do not sell referral data. Referral relationships are used only to operate the in-app referral program.
Free trial (account-side)
New accounts receive a free trial managed in the app (typically 14 days without a referral code, or 7 days when a valid friend code is entered at account creation). No payment method is required to start the trial. Trial length is not an App Store or Google Play introductory offer — it is enforced in WeightMate using your account creation date.
Rest timer alerts (optional)
When you log sets with a rest period, WeightMate can alert you when rest ends:
- In-app cue while WeightMate is open (countdown and end alert)
- Local notifications on Android and iOS if you allow notifications
- On Android, an optional display-over-other-apps bubble (floating countdown) if you grant that permission — so you can see rest time while using other apps
- Optional alert sound and vibration you choose in Profile → Settings
Rest timer alerts are generated on your device. We do not record your microphone or upload alert sounds to our servers.
Helpful tips (on-device)
Optional in-app coach tips (spotlight tours) store which tips you have seen on your device and in your account preferences so tours do not repeat unnecessarily. Tip content is built into the app — we do not collect separate analytics about which tips you viewed for advertising.
Information stored on your device
The app caches some data locally (for example session state, theme preference, and offline workout data) using on-device storage so the app can load quickly and work when connectivity is limited. This local data is tied to your device and is cleared when you uninstall the app or clear app storage.
Information we do not collect
- Precise or coarse location
- Contacts, photos, videos, microphone recordings
- Browsing history outside the app
- Advertising data or third-party advertising SDKs
- Sensitive demographic info (race, religion, politics, etc.)
- Payment card / bank account numbers (handled by Apple or Google)
- We do not sell your personal information or use your data for third-party advertising or tracking as defined by Apple’s App Privacy labels.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Create and maintain your account (Account Management)
- Provide app functionality — sync workouts, routines, and progress across sessions and devices
- Optionally fill check-in and cardio fields from Health Connect or Apple Health when you grant access
- Provide trial access, enforce subscription entitlements, and apply referral credits
- Operate and improve app functionality and reliability
- Respond to support or bug reports you send us
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use this data for third-party advertising, our own advertising, or marketing campaigns as those purposes are defined in Apple’s App Privacy documentation.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run the app, and only as needed for those services (processing on our behalf — not selling to advertisers):
- Supabase — authentication, database hosting, and secure storage of account and app data you save in WeightMate.
- RevenueCat — subscription and entitlement management linked to your account identifier.
- Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android) — payment processing and subscription management through your Apple ID or Google account.
These providers process data under their own privacy policies and contractual obligations. We choose providers appropriate for hosting and operating a consumer mobile application.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a merger or sale of the business (with notice where required).
Data retention
We retain account and app data while your account is active. When you delete your account (in the app or by verified email request), we remove your profile and associated app data from our systems. We do not retain workout or progress data after account deletion.
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: Much of your data is visible and editable in the app (profile, workouts, progress). For other requests, contact us.
- Account deletion: In the app, open Profile → Legal → Delete account. You can also use our account deletion page for instructions. Deletion removes your account and stored app data. Cancel App Store or Google Play subscriptions separately in your Apple ID or Google account settings.
- Subscriptions: Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID (iOS) or Google Play (Android) account settings. Cancellation stops future charges; access may continue until the end of the current billing period.
- Health permissions: Manage or revoke Health Connect (Android) or Apple Health (iOS) access in your device settings. You can also turn off check-in auto-import in the app without revoking system permissions.
- Marketing: We do not send promotional email as part of the app today. If that changes, we will update this policy.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights (for example, access, deletion, or portability). Contact us to exercise them; we will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Security
We use industry-standard measures through our hosting and auth providers, including encrypted connections (HTTPS / TLS) in transit, access controls, and row-level security on user data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
WeightMate is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
International users
Your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate (including the United States). By using the app, you consent to this processing as described in this policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
